1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using StudentBook ("the App," "the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Shafil Alam ("we," "us," or "our"), the developer of StudentBook. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. Description of Service
StudentBook is a personal grade tracking and GPA calculation application designed for students. The App allows users to view grades, calculate weighted averages, project final grades, and manage course information. All data entered into the App is stored locally on your device.
The App is provided for personal, non-commercial use only. You may not use StudentBook for any purpose other than tracking your own academic grades and information.
3. User Accounts
StudentBook does request personal information besides login data. All login data is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to any server operated by us.
Optional cloud backup features (iCloud on iOS, Google Drive on Android) are facilitated directly through your device's operating system and are subject to Apple's and Google's respective terms of service, not ours.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable regulations
- Use the App to misrepresent your academic records to any institution
5. Accuracy of Information
StudentBook provides GPA calculations, grade projections, and weighted averages based on the data you enter. While we strive to ensure the accuracy of all calculations, we make no warranty that results are free of errors.
Important: StudentBook is a personal tracking tool. GPA calculations produced by the App may differ from official calculations performed by your educational institution due to differences in grading policies, rounding methods, or excluded courses. Do not rely solely on StudentBook for academic planning or official GPA reporting.
6. Intellectual Property
You retain all ownership rights to the grade data and academic information you enter into the App. We claim no intellectual property rights over your personal grade data.
7. Privacy
Your use of StudentBook is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.
8. Third-Party Services
The App may integrate with third-party services such as Apple's App Store for distribution, and optionally with iCloud or Google Drive for local backup. These services are governed by their own terms of service, which you should review independently.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information provided by the App, including GPA calculations and grade projections.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL SHAFIL ALAM BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR ACADEMIC CONSEQUENCES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE APP.
11. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device. Upon deletion, all locally stored login data will be removed from your device (unless backed up externally).
We reserve the right to discontinue the App or any of its features at any time without prior notice.
12. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
